It has been quite a long time I did not write anything on this blog.
Today is the 17th February, 2013. I have managed to complete veneer grafting on a durian tree. I am using young D197 aka Musang King aka Raja Kunyit and veneer grafted it onto a Kampung Durian tree. Actually, I am using my own modified veneer grafting technique. Hopefully, in two months time, it will take each other and form a new tree. Should it succeed, then the waiting time for the D197 to bear fruit would be in 3 years time if not 2 years. I am going to put extra effort and extra fertilizer to make it mature early. Hi hi.
Meanwhile, a few days ago I planted a young rambutan tree; in fact it was too young, the height was only about 6 inches. But since I don't want to waste the organic soil that has been prepared months before, I decided to just plant the young rambutan tree. It is known as Rambutan Anak Sekolah aka R191. This rambutan tree, if it grows beautifully (since it was too young), I plan to make it mature in one year, and prepare it to bear fruit by the second year.
What is next? I am not sure yet, but I plan to transplant a water apple tree onto a new site, which I haven't prepared anything yet. It is now in polybag, and fruiting its first season.... I need to wait for the fruit to mature before transplanting to its new site.. It will take another two months, perhaps...
Another old rambutan tree needs to be chopped down, and planted with new type of rambutan, perhaps Rambutan Gading Muar aka R156 or together with Rambutan Gula Batu aka R3
